Electrical survey
Marine Electrical Surveys & Condition Assessments
Marine electrical condition assessments, thermal imaging, harmonic distortion analysis and written electrical survey reports for yachts and boats in South Florida.
A defined electrical scope
A clearer picture of the systems aboard.
An electrical survey assesses the condition of the vessel’s electrical systems within an agreed scope. It can support an owner’s maintenance decisions, a proposed refit or the electrical portion of a purchase review.
Before work begins, we discuss the vessel, available documentation, equipment access and testing conditions. The report identifies the areas inspected, tests completed and any limitations.
What the assessment can include
- AC/DC power distribution, wiring and connection condition
- Electrical panels, circuit protection and circuit identification
- Shore power connections, grounding and bonding
- Battery banks, charging equipment and inverter systems
- Insulation resistance testing
- Thermal imaging of electrical equipment and connections
- Power quality and harmonic distortion analysis
- Equipment alarm and control function checks
- Fire and gas detection system checks, including Consilium systems
- Post-repair checks against the identified electrical findings
Tests are selected for the installed equipment and the agreed purpose. Not every survey requires every test.
Written findings
An electrical survey report
you can act on.
A record of observations and measurements, with recommendations for corrective work or further investigation.
Scope & observations
The systems examined, accessible areas, observed condition and relevant photographs where included in the agreed scope.
Test results & limitations
Measurements and findings from the tests performed, including operating conditions and areas that could not be assessed.
Recommended next steps
Identified electrical deficiencies, recommended corrective actions and further testing or verification where needed.
This is an electrical condition assessment. It does not include hull condition, vessel valuation or statutory certification.
Diagnostics & control systems
Specialist checks.
Relevant to your vessel.
Thermal imaging, harmonic distortion analysis and alarm checks address different aspects of electrical condition. The appropriate methods depend on the reported issue and the equipment installed.
For Consilium fire and gas detection systems, provide the model and any existing alarm or fault information so the required checks can be discussed. Consilium identifies equipment serviced; no manufacturer authorization or affiliation is claimed.

Can this support a purchase review?
Yes. An agreed electrical assessment can complement the work of the surveyor coordinating the vessel’s overall purchase survey.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. The electrical survey report records the agreed inspection and testing scope, findings, limitations and recommended next steps.
Can you check repairs against existing findings?
Yes. Share the relevant electrical findings and repair details so a follow-up verification scope can be arranged.
Is there a fixed online survey price?
No. Survey scope and fees depend on the vessel, systems, access and required testing. Request an assessment before arranging payment.
